FESTIVAL HEAVEN 2007
Thursday was upon us along with the sun and ''Shenanigins'' and the party started. A new stage in the main bar allowed more room for the two berry/picking hobbits to set the gear up and the festival got off the ground. With a crew of old and new bar persons bedecked in raspberry pink t-shirts and black ''Mischievous'' sun hats the beer started pouring. In the lounge the ceilidh was in full swing with the ''West Telforton Band'' in fine form entertaining in their usual style. Friday arrived as did hundreds of regular festival goers who as usual were ready to party. In the main bar ''Hougmagandie'' ''Shenanigins'' and ''Tom Orr and his broadcasting band'' blasted out their own styles of music much to the delight of the crowd. Whilst in the lounge it was session time which lasted until the small hours. The beer garden proved a popular retreat,Generations of ''MacAllisters'' held court in the harvest home and the chain locker was in much demand. Saturday morning arrived as did the crowds who were in fine form and ready to be entertained, the usual crew started of the fun and with the arrival of ''The Raggaels'' and a wee practice run the scene was set for a major party ??. Competition time in the lounge bar stuttered to a beginning in west coast fashion and after ''Rory MacLeod''who was doing his best to get everybody organised had altered the rules was very successful and thanks to the judges Joanie, Fiona and Stuart AKA Harold Goodfortune. This will now be a regular feature which will be a popular decision I'm sure. ''Tom Orr'' won the'' Bobby MacLeod Memorial Quaich'' with an old favourite of the Mish ''Michael Philip''and the Fifers taking care of the ''Argyll trophy'' . In amongst the music and fun the mishnish regular saturday football fanatics had a closed door in the chain locker watching the results in spite of the rocking and a rolling around them. Saturday evening in the lounge will be remembered for the smooth bellow action from ''Allan Gardiner'' and a few reels from '' Craig and Hazel MacCallum'' on holiday with the family delighting a discerning audience,''Mr Ross,Mr Knight and an in form ''Russell Hunter''with his Magical variations''set the scene. The main bar rocked and bounced to the ''Raggaels'' who were immense, and as usual, delighted their faithful following. Sunday morning with an impatient crowd ready to stream in to the pub ''Houghmagandie'' opened up and the final day was off and running, sessions in the lounge and a complete line up in the main bar saw ''Festival Heaven "2007'' draw to a close and before we knew it the bell was rung and time was upon us. The Mishnish Bar staff did an immense job to which I give my thanks to the ''Many''. The Mishnish Security were as patient ,efficient and friendly as always and deserve much gratitude. All the musicians from ''Shetland'' to the ''far South'' who attended and had a wee sesh I give a ''BIG''BIG'' THANKS'' And to my customers old and new which without, there would be no festival slainte !

Meeting old friends and making some new ones

''Rory MacLeod'' our friendly radio/taxi jockey from Inverness used his persuasion skills to entice all and sundry to perform on the ''wee'' back stage in the lounge in his own inimitable style.
''West Telforton broadcasting dance band'' held court aided and abetted by Andrew Knight, Russell Hunter, Alastair Currie, ''wee Fraser Macinness'' and King fingers Richard Ross.

The Public bar snugs ''harvest home'' and the ''chain locker'' saw impromtu's and ceilidhs so much so that many musicians went through their doors on festival Friday and reappeared at some time on Sunday/Monday morning with a haunted blitzed look about them , fans of the MacAllisters from the 'wee toon' will understand ??????
