A hotel, bar and restaurant in Cork are closing for ten days so staff can take a “little break” after a difficult year.
Kinsale’s much-loved White Lady Hotel will not be serving their usual delicious meals and pints as owner Anthony Collins has decided to close so they can all rest.
The good news is that they’ll be back on November 11, with Anthony posting a video message thanking everyone for their support during a difficult year.
He said: “Just a quick note to all of our good friends and great customers to let them know that the White Lady will be closing from November 1 to November 11.
“It’s for a little break, it’s been a tough year so we’re taking a break – closing it. The rooms, restaurant and bar until 11.”
He then closes the door playfully in front of the camera.
The pub was recently described by a reviewer as a ‘hidden gem in the middle of Kinsale’, with owner Anthony receiving special mention for his personal approach to hospitality.
Its small golf museum is also widely praised, with people calling it a “must visit” for fans of the sport.
One said: “Perfect place for a short golf trip to the Old Head golf courses. The staff are passionate, the food is excellent. We loved the pub section and the rooms are nice and comfortable.
“The staff are very helpful in booking taxis or whatever you might need. Walking distance to the shops and bars of Kinsale.”
