settle among the historic houses on the road from madang to shanghai, Chinanew Headquarter from the architectural firm CCDs mixes past and future within the bubbling fabric of the metropolis. designed as a quiet, comfortable and friendly workspace, the newly unveiled complex incorporates multifunctional spaces, industrial materials, residential-style greenery and dramatic paintings. the overall design focuses on the emotional needs of employees, exploring a new aesthetic that brings work, nature and art together.

serving as a modern workspace and cultural venue
CCD’s new headquarters in shanghai is located on the rooftop, a new iconic landmark in xintiandi, the central area of shanghai’s central business district. The roof was designed by award-winning French architect Jean Nouvel, who has created many world-renowned projects, including the qatar national museumthe louvre abu dhabi, a central park, philharmonie of parisetc
in designing this headquarters, the architects implemented the four principles of “craftsmanship, humanism, efficiency, and warmth”. abandoning monotonous “cabins”, the team revolutionized traditional workspaces using modern design ideas, while adding elegance and aesthetics to practicality. the newly formed environment accommodates offices, a café-bar, an open kitchen, a book bar, single-user acoustic office modules, multifunctional conference rooms and a lounge. the new headquarters serves not only as a place of work, but also as a public place for holding art exhibitions, movie nights, university meetings, coffee sessions and other commercial and leisure activities. it is also a showroom for the best materials in the world, a museum of materials brands.
a relaxing place for open communication
Thinking outside the box, CCD took a mix-and-match approach to create casual elegance. the integration of greenery, sunshine, industrial style elements and visually dramatic paintings make the cafe appear like a small art gallery. meanwhile, the open kitchen incorporates oriental dining etiquette, providing an open island for buffet dining, catering to a variety of needs and showcasing the versatility of the space. with food as a medium, this space brings people together and stimulates relaxed and sincere communication.
