A 30-year-old man is believed to have died after being injured in a fight at a resto-bar in a Noida mall over payment of a bill, officials said on Tuesday.
The incident happened on Monday night at the Lost Lemons resto-bar in the Garden Galleria shopping center below the boundaries of Sector 39 Police Station, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said.
The deceased was identified as Brajesh Rai from Hasanpura village in Bihar’s Chhapra district, police said.
“He had gone to the resto-bar with his colleagues for a party. At around 11 p.m., an argument broke out between these people and the bar staff over the payment of a bill,” Singh said.
This quickly escalated into a fight in which Brajesh was seriously injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died, the officer said.
After reviewing CCTV footage, eight people were identified, he said.
An FIR has been filed and more than a dozen resto-bar employees have been taken into custody, Singh said, adding that no arrests have yet been made.
