General Manager Nathan Gordon, of Gleadless, said: “We have 40 screens. We want it to be a great place to watch sports where you can see from every seat.
“We’ve noticed that with some sports bars you sometimes can’t see the screens from where you’re sitting.”
Nathan explained why the bar decided to go with shuffleboard, a game where players slide weighted pucks along the smooth wooden surface, trying to land them in the scoring area at the end .

“Shuffleboard is a great leveler. If I play pool and I’m really good I’ll win nine times out of 10, whereas with shuffleboard you can win 10 games and lose 10 games.
“It’s really good, it’s exciting, it’s fun and it’s open to anyone of any ability.”
Nathan said staff need to instruct players not to dust the thin layer of sand from the playing surface – it’s what helps the discs fly. They must cover the surfaces every day.
He intends to organize tournaments if the customers really want a little good-natured competition.
The bar sells cocktails as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and Extra Time also offers an American grill-style cuisine menu featuring burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, tortillas and loaded fries.
Customers can sit at high tables or in booths, which can be reserved in advance.
